Kirstin McGregor of Kirkcaldy is the George Tait Memorial Award winner for 2017. The George Tait Memorial Award was piloted in 2015 as a fitting tribute to George who was passionate about young people gaining experience and training to enable them to work in the industry and gain qualifications. The award is a joint venture between The Trekking and Riding Society of Scotland and Horsescotland through their member body development programme. Kirstin who holds a BHS stage 1, HNC in Equine Studies, a UKCC Level 1, a TRSS Ride Leader certificate and recently achieved her TRSS Senior Ride Leader at Crieff Hydro is keen to add a coaching or teaching qualification to her list and will use the fund money to develop her riding and fund CPD opportunities to allow her to achieve her goal. Barbarafield is hoping to construct an outdoor arena at the farm to expand on what the centre can offer and Kirstin is keen to be able to develop other riders and provide a mix of activities for riders at the centre. We wish her well for the future.
