Busy May and June for TRSS Examiners

NewsPosted by Susan Tue, July 05, 2016 17:56:25
May and June have been extremely busy months for our examiners with five examinations taking place at different venues in Scotland.
The first venue was Tower Farm Stables in Edinburgh where Eva Korotkich successfully upgraded to Senior Ride Leader. Elisha Murray, Erin Reynolds, Sarah Armstrong, Rebecca Webster, Mia Andrews-McGlynn, Alexander Duffy and Ross Young successfully passed their Ride Leader qualification keeping Liz Simpson our Chief Examiner and Examiner Kirsten Kennedy busy. All the candidates found it a positive experience and enjoyed their day.
Crieff Hydro stables was the next venue with candidates travelling from Morar, Kingussie and Tain to sit their exams. Hannah Accorsini and Rebecca Cameron passed their Senior Ride Leader and Emily Brown, Lee-Anne Menzies, Hannah MacKinnon, Yvonne Shepherd and Katie Shepherd all passed their Ride Leader examination. Liz Simpson and Kirsten Kennedy again examined.
Liz Simpson then travelled over to the Uist Community Riding School to exam two Senior Ride Leaders, Nina Wren and Jennifer Ross who both passed and Ride Leaders Jennifer MacVicar and Hannah MacDonald who also passed. It's difficult for candidates on the Islands to find appropriate exams and it was easier to send an examiner in, rather than the candidates travel out.
The next examination venue was Glen Tanar Equestrian Centre up in Aboyne. This was a big examination and kept Liz Simpson and Sarah Basford busy. It was a very successful exam with all candidates passing. The furthest travelled from Argyll Adventure Hollie MacPhee and Isla McClean passed their Ride Leader as did two from Teen Ranch in Inchture Hannah Drew and Grace Mhairi Millivard. Also passing Ride Leader closer to home, Kathryn Harle, Rosie Glass, Isla McLean, Margaret Seaward and Alison Korzinek. Alicia Davis and Carol Bisset who passed their Ride Leader examination the previous year upgraded to Senior Ride Leader. The highlight of the night when the exam had finished was the bottle of champagne produced by Margaret Seaward to mark the occasion. It finished off what had been a very busy but successful day.
The final examination of June was held up at Broomhill Riding Centre at Fortrose. Liz Simpson was again Chief Examiner assisted by Lorna Clark. Anna Waters, Kirsty Pedden, Abbie MacAllister, Megan Nicholls, Siobhan Burford and Orianne Chausse all passed their Ride Leader qualification.
Well done to all the successful candidates and to those who were not yet ready, work on the areas you were weak in and have another try. Having gone through the exam you will be much better prepared next time round.
Thank you to our hard working examiners, Liz Simpson our chief examiner and her team of Kirsten Kennedy, Sarah Basford and Lorna Clark. All examiners are qualified assessors and have gone through the exam system themselves. They know the levels the qualification is set at and have all been training candidates prior to becoming examiners.
We have already candidates on our waiting list for exams later in the year and will be finding suitable venues shortly. In the meantime if anyone would like further details on the syllabus please contact us through the enquiry form.
